HOW LONG WILL THE CONSULTATION LAST?

Most first visits take about an hour. Our goal is to hear the vision you have for your ideal garage project and to share with you who we are and how we can possibly help make that happen.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO BUILD A DETACHED GARAGE?

From start to finish, the physical process of building a detached garage usually takes around 8 weeks, excluding items outside of the builder’s control like weather, labor, and material shortages.

That rough time frame is broken into the following stages:

Permitting — Depending upon where you live, can take 2-4 weeks.
Demolition of the existing garage — This usually takes 1-2 days.
Preparation and installation of the concrete foundation and slab –Proper forming, prep work, and pouring of the concrete can take 2-3 days. The concrete will then need to cure for 2-3 weeks.
Building the garage — This can take 3-5 days depending upon the size and complexity.
Electrical installation — This typically takes 1-2 days.
Final touches — The finishing touches like epoxy floors and gutters typically take 1-4 days to complete.

DO YOUR GARAGES INCLUDE A WARRANTY?

Yes! Each Heartland Garage includes a warranty. We strongly believe that this significant investment you are making should be protected by our best-in-industry warranty.

HGB maintains a 2-year warranty on the garage from the date of substantial completion which is established by the approved municipal final inspection. After 2 years any issues with the siding, shingles, etc. will be referred to the manufacturer’s warranty.  Separately, all mechanical equipment (such as the overhead door mechanism) associated with the garage is limited to a 1-year warranty.

All concrete work is excluded from this warranty. This includes any cracking, spalling, peeling, pitting, or scaling caused by ground settling, the freeze/thaw cycle, the use of salt, etc.

WHAT HAPPENS TO THE LANDSCAPING AROUND MY NEW GARAGE?

HGB understands that while a garage is a large investment, so is your lawn and landscaping. That is why we take extra care of the surrounding area around the base of the slab and any trenches due to electrical lines. The area around the garage will have a rough graded finish; any permit-required grading work will be the owner’s responsibility and any permit bond associated with this work will need to be provided by the owner.

DO YOUR GARAGES INCLUDE A WEB-ENABLED GARAGE DOOR OPENER?

Every Heartland Garage comes complete with a web-enabled garage door opener. A web-enabled garage door opener allows you to remotely control access to your garage from your smartphone. You’ll be able to share access to your garage from anywhere in the world. Regardless of where you are, you can have peace of mind in knowing you can open or close your garage as you need to.
